Thomas Refoy-Butler - Solicitor

Thomas graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours).  As part of his LLB he also studied International Trade Law at the University of British Columbia, Canada.  Thomas joined Jones Fee in December 2009.

Thomas has experience in commercial litigation, dispute resolution and general insurance matters, including litigation management and defence strategy.  He has particular experience in the following areas:

• professional indemnity insurance
• policy advice
• corporate recovery
• public liability

Thomas has appeared as junior counsel in proceedings in the High Court and District Court.  In addition, he has been involved in alternative dispute resolution forums.

In his spare time Thomas is always on the go, either running competitively, mountain biking or skiing.  He is also a member of the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs.
