Mai Piilua - Solicitor
"The art of law is seeing the opportunity in every difficulty" says Mai, who was admitted to the bar in August 2008.
Mai Piilua has been heading towards her role as a lawyer with Jones Fee since she was a child, having dreamt even then of achieving the career she enjoys today.
Along the way, she has collected a Bachelor of Arts majoring in political studies and sociology and a Bachelor of Laws from Auckland University. She also has a Certificate of Social Science from AUT.
Mai is most interested in litigation, commercial law and intellectual property. She says litigators are often referred to as the ‘jack of all trades’ as they need to have knowledge in so many facets of the law. Hence her fascination.
Mai’s list of spare time activities ensures she doesn’t have much time spare at all. Indoor netball, boxing, teaching Sunday School at Tamaki Pacific Island Presbyterian Church, singing in the Church choir and Bible Class are just some of the things she crams in after hours.
You know what they say…. "If you want something done, ask a busy person."
